Dana came to Western with a strong connection to community and a desire to understand how she could contribute to positive social change.
Studying a Bachelor of Social Science gave her an opportunity to deepen that understanding while developing the research, writing and critical-thinking skills that would help shape what came next.
Alongside her studies, the GO Foundation Scholarship connected Dana with culture, community and an encouraging network.
That support became part of a broader university experience that helped Dana develop her knowledge and confidence as she prepared to move from study into her career.
After graduating from Western Sydney University, Dana took her knowledge and capabilities into the policy sector.
Today, she works as a Senior Policy Officer in the Closing the Gap space, engaging with complex policy issues and contributing to work focused on stronger outcomes for communities.
For Dana, success isn't simply about where her education has taken her. It's about what she can do with it.
She continues to use her education to empower others, advocate for meaningful change and contribute to stronger policy and community outcomes.
